The cave lies in the valley of the Pinturas River, in an only spot in the Patagonian landscape. It is most manageable by a gravel road (RP 41), which leaves Ruta 40 3 km north of Bajo Caracoles and runs 46 km northeast to the south side of the Pinturas Canyon. The north side of the canyon can with be reached by unexpected, but shorter, roads from Ruta 40. A 3 km alleyway connects the two sides of the canyon, but there is no road colleague.


The main cave events 24 m (79 ft) in severity, when an admission 15 m (49 ft) broad, and it is initially 10 m (33 ft) high. The sports arena inside the cave has an upward incline; inside the cave the summit is reduced to no on depth of 2 m (7 ft).

The images of hands are negative painted, that is, stencilled. Most of the hands are left hands, which suggests that painters held the spraying pipe when than their right hand or they put the gain of their right hand to the wall and held the spraying pipe gone their left hand.

Besides these there are with depictions of human beings, guanacos (Lama guanicoe), rheas, felines and adding animals, as accurately as geometric shapes, zigzag patterns, representations of the sun, and hunting scenes. The hunting scenes are naturalistic portrayals of a variety of hunting techniques, including the use of bolas. Similar paintings, even though in smaller numbers, can be found in to hand caves. There are in addition to red dots on the subject of the ceilings, probably made by submerging their hunting bolas in ink, and moreover throwing them in the works.
