"Things to Consider As a Forex Affiliate" by Yana Makhanov
As a new affiliate, you are most probably doomed to make at least some mistakes on the way! Before you find yourself thinking "I should have done this differently," go over the list below and find out what are the ways to become a successful affiliate a little bit faster than the "learn-by-mistakes" way.
1. When choosing a forex-related topic for your site, go for something you will enjoy writing about along the way. Is it forex brokers reviews? Or maybe trading strategies? Maybe it is the variety of forex automated software? The first rule - stay away from something you have absolutely no passion for. By promoting something you believe in and something that you are passionate about, you will keep motivation going, especially at the early days when your site doesn't make any money yet or there are all kind of unexpected problems.
2. Pay attention to keyword density on all the pages. Also, do not ignore the ALT tags for the images on your forex website. It is extremely useful to name the images using the right keywords and phrases.
3. When choosing a domain, don't be discouraged by hyphens. Hyphenated domains might look hideous for a human eye, but are extremely helpful when it comes to better ranking in search engines.
4. Don't waste your money and time reading endless eBooks by "professionals" in forex affiliate programs. All information you need can be found online for free, if you have enough patience to actually look for it!
5. Be serious about forex affiliate marketing from the start. Consider the profit perspectives, figure out the business plan and go for it! Don't let the lack of knowledge discourage you - everything can be learned with enough will and time spent.
6. Consider outsourcing. Yes, logically speaking, if you do it all yourself (writing forex trading articles, website design, scripting, backlink building, directory submissions, seo... even budget building, billing and accounting !), all the money go to your pocket, however in the long run, you will realize that you cannot do everything yourself. Being responsible for 101 things at the same time will only make you exhausted and incapable of doing even one thing tip top.
7. It might be a good idea to learn about html, sql, css and php before trying to create your first website. If you don't feel like getting too deep into programming, it might be a good idea to simply purchase a template or hire someone to do the job for you. At the end, the money spent will come back to you if your site is user-friendly and search engine optimized.
8. When joining forex affiliate program, find out all the little secrets behind terms and conditions. Don't leave the surprises for later when you want to, for example, withdraw the money but, oops, you can only do so by money brokers. Or, after one year, the traders referred by you are no longer yours. (Yes, some affiliate programs are pure evil!)
9. Research and do your homework about the competition in Forex market. What has already been done? Which sites are the real competition?
10. Consider joining forex affiliate forums and discussion boards to find out more about affiliate market and get to know forex affiliate managers. It can be extremely useful and imperative to your success. To take things even further, it is a great idea to join summits and forex affiliate conferences to meet and greet people in your line of work and see the brokers representatives face to face.
11. Create a blog, post regularly and see the traffic blossom! Link from the blog to the pages of your site. You will be surprised how fast Google and Yahoo finds it.
12. Concentrate on articles. The number of articles you write strongly influence the amount of visitors you get on your forex website. Besides, the more forex related articles you have online, the more authority and respect you receive by people. You are treated as a professional and as a result, you get backlinks from other sites when others start adding your work on their websites.
13. Backup your work. Do it once a week - religiously. The last thing you want is to lose all you worked for so hard because a one-time hack or a bug in the source code.
14. Keep track of your visitors, clicks, time spend on the site etc. This data can help you improving things that require your attention.
15. Instead of focusing on marketing and money making, try to help forex traders with your website. Give honest reviews, write comprehensive articles, give your opinions and open discussions. Answer emails without exceptions. Just because you won't get paid for the advice doesn't mean you shouldn't help!
