"Concentration Tricks" by Chamunda Swami Ji

We all feel distracted and demotivated at some point in time. Some face the problem of distraction and restlessness more often than others. Well, concentration and attention retention ability is the key to success and a quality that everyone should possess. Constant distraction and lack of concentration on task at hand can mar success in the corporate world and can prove detrimental to personal and family growth as well!

People, who have issues with concentrating for a longer time and lose interest fast, should not lose hope and motivation. Here are some tricks and tips that will help in increasing concentration spans and will direct you in the right path towards retention tactics:

• Come to terms with the fact that the task at hand is simple and you will surely be able to complete it. Tell yourself that you will see the end of the task at hand

• Set a time line and work towards it

• Make sure that there are no interruptions like phone calls, coffee breaks or TV to distract you

• Try to pick up a game like chess which will help you focus and train your mind not to wonder off and concentrate at the game on hand

• Play a card game alone. This will help you retention powers and focus strategies

• Light a candle in a dark room and place it at eye level. Focus on tip of the flame. Close your eyes for few seconds open them and focus on the flame tip yet again. Repeat this exercise several time and over a period of time you will realize that your mind is able to concentrate, focus and feelings o boredom are reducing

• Play a game like cross word, jigsaw puzzle or Sudoku every day. These are a kind of mind exercises which help in focus, concentration and thinking abilities

• Eastern practices of Yoga and meditation helps calming your nerves. This in turn lets your mind and brain focus more acutely and sharply

• Practice the exercise of breathe in - breathe out

• Motivate yourself to complete the task at hand

• Pick up a hobby - dancing, philately, gardening etc. This will help the person in feeling joyous and positive which are imperative qualities for a focused mind
